{ATL}

I guess you can tell by my title that I am in Atlanta.
The family loaded into the car yesterday and drove from Fort Myers to Atlanta. My DH seems to think it's not that bad of a drive.... I don't agree.
Anyway, that means a break from scrapping for about two weeks but I figure this will at least give me a chance to take a bunch of photos of Caitlyn and daddy. We will be here for about two weeks before we head back to pack up the house and make the "real move".
Okay well I'm off to make some memories to scrap - Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

{purge}

I'm sure you know what that means.... and it's not going very well.
It's amazing how I can continue to talk myself into keeping papers that I know I'm not going to use. I mean how long do I really need to keep this stack of vellum paper? What makes me think that a day will come along when I will be working on a layout and think "I need that striped sheet of chatterbox vellum"... It sounds even crazier now that I'm typing it.
I can say that I have established a stack of papers, stickers, rub-ons, etc. to get rid of, but I find it very difficult to actually throw them away. Maybe I will donate them or something.
Anyway, I'm off to continue my purging as I'm sure that when we move I will no longer have a scraproom (I can't even imagine).

{first page of 2009}

Okay, I am finally getting around to posting something scrappy.
If you wondering; no I still haven't gotten any photo editing software and I am realizing everyday that I really do need to buy some so that editing and resizing my photos wouldn't be so difficult.

Anyway this layout is based on the challenge over at
The Design Experiment. This is the first challenge that I have ever done of theirs and I love it. They have challenges that are meaningful and that make you think. Hopefully I can keep it up now that they are doing twice a month challenges. Thanks to Sasha for turning me on to them. The ladies over there are super talented so if you get a chance go check them out.

I'm getting ready to do some Sunday "baby's naptime" scrapping while I have a couple of hours. Which means I might have some more scrappy posts tomorrow.

Hope everyone is having an excellent weekend.

{sugar free jello}

Okay where have I been?
Am I the only person out there that didn't know how delicious sugar free jello was?
I think it might have to do with getting older because I'm pretty sure that the last time I tried it; it wasn't this good. Anyway, I have to keep it in the house now. It's great when you get a craving for something sweet.
Okay enough about that....
I completed the challenge over at The Design Experiment (no I don't have the picture yet). The topic was "having one more hour in the day". I decided that I would try to find a "scrap home" this year. I don't really belong to any message boards right now and although I love looking at all the challenge/sketch sites I never actually sit down to complete them; so it's one of the scrapping goals that I'm adding to my list.
Anyway I hope everyone is having a great week and is getting a good start on the year.

{work in progress}

just wanted to check in... I have been cleaning and searching the net and reading some new scrapping magazines (loving the new changes that Creating Keepsakes made).

Anyway, I am scrapping...what am I working on? Yes, you guessed it - Project 365
I have always prided myself on being a leader and not a follower, but when it comes to this craft... I have no problem jumping on a band wagon or two.
I wasn't going to do the "picture a day thing" but I love the idea of capturing and scrapping your everyday memories so I thought this is PERFECT.
Anyway I totally lifted an idea from an idea I saw on Two Peas. I purchased a 1 year planner/calender and it has room for an entry everyday (including up to cropped 4x6 photo).
I can do a little scrapping with the picture on each day or just journaling if I want. I love that I get to use my scraps and I will capture an entire year in photos.
I of course don't have a photo right now, but hopefully I will have something for you by the end of the week.
I hope everyones week is going great so far.

{new year, new memories}

I can't believe it is actually 2009!!!
It's like 2008 just flew by. I can remember when I first started my blog while I was on maternity leave at the end of 2007 and now I have already been blogging for over a year. Even though I did have some "down" time every now and then.
After looking over my blog I have realized that I really need to do better job actually "making memories". I was going to make a list of resolutions/goals but then I decided to just settled with
"Make 2009 my year!!" I decided that this would not only apply to myself, but also to my marriage, my scrapping and everything else. I believe if I go into this year with a positive outlook then it will be a great year.
I hope 2009 is already turning into a great year for everyone.

{goodbye 2008}

It's actually already 2009 in Florida, but since I am in Texas - it's only 11:06.
I decided to post tonight so that I would get back in the habit of posting. I wanted to say goodbye to 2008 and Hello to 2009!!!
I only have a couple of "goals" for this year; as it realates to scrapping.
* spend more time making memories
* stay on top of updating my blog

As for personal "goals" I have just a few simple ones and a couple of challenging goals. I will share them at another time, but for now - Happy New Year!!!

HELLO 2009!!!

{for kelly p}

I know I haven't been blogging lately and believe it or not I actually have been getting some pages done. I think I needed to step away from the internet for a bit and use my paper resources for a change. I will hopefully post some work soon.
The point of my post: the ever so talented Kelly Purkey has asked for a favor and I decided I would help her. I am always stalking her blog and admiring her work and of course I love to find that the latest magazine purchase has a KP creation in it so for that why wouldn't I post a simple statement on my page.

crowdSPRING, hire Kelly Purkey for your new Community Marketing Manager

As for the rest of you... have a wonderful Friday.

{quick update}

I have been MIA again however this time I have a good reason. WE ARE MOVING AGAIN!!!!
Hubby's company is relocating us to ATLANTA! and I am NOT happy. Yes, I realize that I don't like it here but I have a bad feeling about Atlanta. The catch is they wanted us moved in two weeks... yes I said two weeks!!
So I'm sure anyone could understand why I have been busy. I haven't had time to scrap or do anything becuase my brain is going 60 miles a minute. Luckily we weren't even finished unpacking from the last move so there's not as much to do. I don't have any of the details just yet but I will fill you in as I get them.
I have completed a couple of layouts, but taking pictures of them is a different story. Hopeful I will get back on track soon. Hope everyone is having a great week.

{scrap free weekend}

I promise I had every intention of getting some scrapping done this weekend, but as you can tell, that didn't happen. First, I couldn't find any pictures to scrap. Then the pictures that I did want to scrap (which I ordered online from CVS) turned out like crap. I didn't look at them when I picked them up and when I finally did open the package I was thinking "seriously I paid for this?" Anyway, I went back to CVS and the cashier/photo lady printed them again for me and they turned out much better.
Question to self - Why in the hell won't you plug in the photo printer setting next to your desk and print your own pictures?
Well between bad picture and trying to keep the "Princess" busy, I haven't had time to sit down and do anything. As a matter of fact, it's currently 10:15pm and she is STILL up!!! She is tearing up my scraproom and ripping all of the old scrapping magazines!!
At least we had a chance to go out and play yesterday. I wanted to give her a chance to really practice on her walking and she seemed to have fun in the process so all in all it was a good weekend.

On a scrappy note. I found yet another kit club (A kiss on the chic) and it looks like it might be pretty darn sweet. If you get a chance stop by the blog and see what the DT did with the October kit. Those are some pretty talented ladies. My favorite is the felt book.
Okay everyone have a great Monday!!!
