{goodbye 2008}

It's actually already 2009 in Florida, but since I am in Texas - it's only 11:06.
I decided to post tonight so that I would get back in the habit of posting. I wanted to say goodbye to 2008 and Hello to 2009!!!
I only have a couple of "goals" for this year; as it realates to scrapping.
* spend more time making memories
* stay on top of updating my blog

As for personal "goals" I have just a few simple ones and a couple of challenging goals. I will share them at another time, but for now - Happy New Year!!!

HELLO 2009!!!

*Make 2009 Your Year.*

{for kelly p}

I know I haven't been blogging lately and believe it or not I actually have been getting some pages done. I think I needed to step away from the internet for a bit and use my paper resources for a change. I will hopefully post some work soon.
The point of my post: the ever so talented Kelly Purkey has asked for a favor and I decided I would help her. I am always stalking her blog and admiring her work and of course I love to find that the latest magazine purchase has a KP creation in it so for that why wouldn't I post a simple statement on my page.

crowdSPRING, hire Kelly Purkey for your new Community Marketing Manager

As for the rest of you... have a wonderful Friday.

{quick update}

I have been MIA again however this time I have a good reason. WE ARE MOVING AGAIN!!!!
Hubby's company is relocating us to ATLANTA! and I am NOT happy. Yes, I realize that I don't like it here but I have a bad feeling about Atlanta. The catch is they wanted us moved in two weeks... yes I said two weeks!!
So I'm sure anyone could understand why I have been busy. I haven't had time to scrap or do anything becuase my brain is going 60 miles a minute. Luckily we weren't even finished unpacking from the last move so there's not as much to do. I don't have any of the details just yet but I will fill you in as I get them.
I have completed a couple of layouts, but taking pictures of them is a different story. Hopeful I will get back on track soon. Hope everyone is having a great week.

{scrap free weekend}

I promise I had every intention of getting some scrapping done this weekend, but as you can tell, that didn't happen. First, I couldn't find any pictures to scrap. Then the pictures that I did want to scrap (which I ordered online from CVS) turned out like crap. I didn't look at them when I picked them up and when I finally did open the package I was thinking "seriously I paid for this?" Anyway, I went back to CVS and the cashier/photo lady printed them again for me and they turned out much better.
Question to self - Why in the hell won't you plug in the photo printer setting next to your desk and print your own pictures?
Well between bad picture and trying to keep the "Princess" busy, I haven't had time to sit down and do anything. As a matter of fact, it's currently 10:15pm and she is STILL up!!! She is tearing up my scraproom and ripping all of the old scrapping magazines!!
At least we had a chance to go out and play yesterday. I wanted to give her a chance to really practice on her walking and she seemed to have fun in the process so all in all it was a good weekend.

On a scrappy note. I found yet another kit club (A kiss on the chic) and it looks like it might be pretty darn sweet. If you get a chance stop by the blog and see what the DT did with the October kit. Those are some pretty talented ladies. My favorite is the felt book.
Okay everyone have a great Monday!!!

{okay, okay}

I hate to put this out there and then turn around and go AWOL again, but I think I might be back. I have been spending all my free time browsing the net looking for some inspiration something to get me going. I finally decided to try the September challenge over at word.picture
and it was just what I needed. (I will get a picture as soon as I can).
Let's see it's October 1st and I can't believe how fast the year has gone by. I feel like every time I turn around another week has passed by. WOW!
There are some really interesting things going on this month. There is a new kit club that started today called Kraft Girls kits. The October kit has the new Pink Paislee and looks pretty yummy. Also my dear friend Jemma has started a sketch site (where I will totally be hanging out) called Rough Draft. She and Zoe will be posting sketches for you to work on so stop by and check it out.
Lastly, I skipped on my October kit from Mosh Posh. Although it is an awesome kit, I just don't think I will use it. This means that I have a "little" extra money ( I do mean little because Kristen's kit are so well priced) to use on another kit. Anyone have any suggestions? And before you ask - yes, I would get the Kraft Girl kit, but I just got Pink Paislee paper in my Mosh Posh kit last month so I am looking for something different.
On a non-scrapping note. My mom is coming to Florida in a couple of weeks so I'm going to pack Caitlyn up and make the 2 hour trip to go see her, or rather to let her see Caitlyn (no one wants to see me anymore).
Oh and back to scrapping... has anyone seen the new sheer paper from KI Memories? I got some at my LSS and Yum-O. Also the new "Daily Grind" line from Fancy Pants!!! WOW. I am working on a total scraplift with it right now that I should be able to show this weekend.
Okay have a fabulous Thursday.
*A little secret: I like to call it Surprise Thursday because something unexpected always seems to happen (sometimes good, sometimes bad) but there always seems to be a surprise. Can't wait to see what it will be tomorrow.

{isn't this sad?}

At this point I am averaging 2 posts a week. The even sadder thing is that in those two posts I have absolutely nothing interesting to say. It wouldn't be so bad if I at least had a layout or a card to share, but I can't even offer that.
I've been doing really good getting my scraproom clean and organized and I just picked up Caitlyn's 9 month pictures on Tuesday, so of course I have to scrap some of those. So I would say that come Saturday I should be in full scrap mode... although I did plan on taking my little princess to the park so she could swing and slide. Mommy is getting tired and sore from holding her while I slide down the carpeted stairs. I must say that hearing her laugh makes it worth it.
Anywho... I hope everyone has a fabulous Friday!!!

BTW... check out this new challenge site, they are looking for designers!

{why in the...}

heck is it so hard for me to remember to do my 12 of 12 every month? I always seem to remember the day after and we all know it's not called 13 of 13 so that doesn't help.

Quick update....

-had league on Friday - actually bowled okay.

- super sad about
this, have been upset all weekend, my prayers go out to her family and friends. (check out her awesome work here)

-went to the crop, got 1 layout and 3 cards done (had the most delicious pork tenderloin EVER)

-watched Redition (love me some Reease Witherspoon) - pretty good movie

-spent today napping and playing with Caitlyn.

-washing clothes before I go to bed.

Maybe I'll do a 15 of 15 tomorrow. :o)
Hope eveyone had a great weekend and has a wonderful week!!

Don't forget to enjoy every moment - time is life. It's the only thing that you can never get back - when it goes, it's irrevocably gone. (Valley of the Dolls)

{100th post}

Okay i have been putting this post off for some time becuase I wanted it to be interesting since it is my 100th post... well I realized that if I was waiting on something interesting to happen in my life I would be waiting for awhile.
So here it is post 100. I do have a couple of interesting scrap things to share. First I have been hopping around the internet and found some really fun challenge blogs, I put them over there on the right side ----> There is a new mini book challenge blog (because we all have un-started mini albums) and there is a new card challenge blog coming. The one I found most interesting though is the word.picture blog. Every month they basically given you written directions (guidelines) on how to create a layout. The catch is you use the instructions however you interpret them. This way almost every layout will turn out different. I'm sure I don't do it justice, so go check it out yourself.
Alright my last bit of news.......wait for it.......
Yes, you guessed it, I'm going to the Gulf Harbour crop this Saturday (but only for a few hours) this will be my first time leaving Caitlyn alone with her daddy, but I really needed some "me" time, plus this will give me a chance to make some scrappy friends. There is a delicious brunch planned and some really neat make and takes so I'm pretty excited. I have a list of things I want to work one, but we will see what I actually get done.
Alright, I'm off to do some reading... my book is still in it's slow stage but I'm hoping things will pick up soon. Have a fabulous Tuesday all!!!

{it's already September!}

I'm still here don't worry. However my life has been so uneventful over the past week or so that I honestly have nothing to scrap about. Before you ask... no I'm not completely caught up on all my scrapping, there is plenty of stuff for me to scrap about. I guess the better statement would have been I don't feel like scrapping.
I went and purchased a couple of things to hopefully get me in the mood. My friend
Sasha (who by the way is a scrappin' genius and it always keepin' it real) said that the new October Afternoon was the bomb so I went and bought... it's still in the bag!! Then I decided to order one of the Noel kits that Sasha had been going on about on her blog... she even did a video. Yes, you guessed it... it was sold out.
So I've spent a few hours looking for a new kit to make me go..."I have to have it" because I thought it would get me in the mood... didn't happen. Man. I should have ordered that kit the first time I looked at it!!!
Which brings me to my final "get in the mood" option which was offered to me by my super great blogger friend Jemma - Clean up your scrap space!!!
This however I will have to put off until tomorrow. :o)
I did go to Barnes and Noble's the other day and somehow walked out with this

Not really sure why... it was really big in the 60's and I figured I hadn't read a book in... FOREVER so why not?
So far so good...
Well I am going to do a little organizing before I settle into my book so I'm off. Hope everyone is having a great week.

Wednesday, August 27, 2008

{oh my gosh}

I sat down to try to scrap something (because I was lucky enough to get "the princess" to bed at 8:30). Well, after I spent some time talking to Hubby on Yahoo Messenger and browsing the internet... yes, you guessed it - it's bed time.
Also, my desk is so messy that I only have a 9 x 4 area to work in and that means I would have to clean first... not going to happen. Not tonight anyway! So Nicole what's keeping you from cleaning... (no answer).
On a non-scrapping note. I start my 7 day cleanse tomorrow and I am not excited about it, but I know I need it. I eat so bad and on top of that don't work out (bad combo). I'm sure my lack of soda and goodies will have me pissed for a few days however I know it will be worth it in the end. Wish me luck!
I did realize that I never posted my layouts from the August Scrapcakes kit. So, here is one of them. The kit had a ton of wonderful paper and this layout is on some yummy Kelly Panacci paper.

I totally put a circle over the top left corner of that picture because you could see right down my shirt!! Don't tell anyone, even though I guess I just did!! LOL!
Alright, I'm off. Hope everyone has a super dooper fabulous Thursday.

{where does the day go?}

It seems like I blink and it's gone. I wake up, go to work, run errands at lunch, get off and spend some time playing with Caitlyn and before you know it, it's 8pm. Time for dinner, bath, bed.
I really need to manage my time better, if that's possible.
I wish I had time to sit down and scrap... I have tons of new stuff that I haven't even touched yet. I have tons of old stuff that I need to get to and there is stuff that's getting ready to come out that I'm going to want. What to do? Okay that was me just venting! LOL!
I wanted to do a quick update while I was sitting in my scraproom looking for a couple of photos to scrap. I really want to do Sketch #2 over at Pink Sketches. At least if I commit to that I know I'll get at least one layout a week done. LOL!
I also need to finish organizing my scraproom. It's been almost 3 months and it's still not finished I still have stuff to unpack and throw away. Although I have found a new home for alot of my unwanted items (one of my co-workers is a scrapper).
Okay so now that I haven't found my pictures and have watched 20 minutes of Amityville 2 (because there is NOTHING else on)... I'm going to bed. Not because I'm tired, but because I'm about 95% sure that Miss Caitlyn will wake up at about 1:00am (for no reason) and I want to at least have a couple of hours of sleep in my sleep bank when that happens.
It's amazing that someone that's only been here for 9 months runs my life, I hope she doesn't think this is permanent!

{friday nite at home}

We were supposed to bowl tonight but that didn't happen so it's been a night of Cowboy's football and some random movie about some man putting people on an island and whoever is left alive is the winner. (The condemned). Please understand that I am in no way recommending this movie... I am just letting you know what I'm watching. LOL!
So I finished my layout for the Pink Sketches blog... I hope you went and checked it out. I'm pretty sure the next sketch is revealed tomorrow. I can't wait!!
I had one more July 4th photo to scrap and I was able to get it finished using the sketch. I haven't added my journaling yet, but I thought I should go ahead and get my layout posted and I can get my journaling added later.
Hope everyone has a great Saturday. I am headed to bed, I don't think I'm going to finish the movie. Plus I want to be well rested so I can get some scrapping done tomorrow.

{we survived Fay}

So we haven't even been in Sunny South Florida (yes, I'm saying that with a frown on my face) for 6 months and guess what... we have to deal with a darn tropical storm (Fay). Of course I'm glad that it wasn't a hurricane, but it's still an inconvenience either way.
Anyway, I found a new sketch sight that I already love. It's called Pink Sketches. The first sketch was posted this weekend and I already have it completed!! I haven't had a chance to take a picture yet, but I plan on getting it posted tomorrow. If you get a chance go check it out and play along.
Okay that's it for right now... I know I'm very boring. I will try to get out and do some stuff so that I at least have some pictures to share.
Hope everyone is having a fabulous week!

{It's Jemma day today}

Some of you might wonder what I'm talking about, but I have decided that today will forever go down in history as "Jemma day" for me. Why you ask... well that is a fabulous question.
The first reason is because I finally scrapped something for myself... not DT stuff, but simply for me. And I used Jemma's sketch as inspriation (thanks Jemma). I have been saying that I was going to use one of her fabulous sketches for so long now and well I finally got around to it. Here is my layout and I even managed to use some old stuff even though I now have tons of new stuff I need to use. LOL!

I had to blur out my address so no crazy people (you know who you are) show up at my door.
Also, don't click on the picture because it is HUGE... I haven't figured out Elements so I don't know how to resize my photos.
The second reason that I am dedicating today to Jemma is because she also inspired me to work out. She didn't say or do anyone thing, but just the fact that she is strong enough to push herself to do what she needs to do to get to the goals that she has for herself made me think that I too need to push myself and be the strong female that I know I am so I got up off my butt and walked 2 miles today. It might not sound like much but to me it is. I always find excuses to not work out and today I made myself "just do it" and for some reason my dear friends Jemma crossed my mind and I thought to myself.. Jemma would get it done!!
So here's to you Jemma!! Thanks for the inspiration.
And in my book; today 8/14/08 is Jemma Day!! It's so awesome to have a friend like you in my life.
*Next on my to do list... the awesome sketch at Sketch This.

{I need scrap counseling}

It amazes me how long it's been since I have actually posted a layout or card. The fact that I don't have any photo editing software hasn't helped with that at all. So I have downloaded a trial of Photoshop Elements to see if that's the way I want to go and I must say so far so good. I have already created one sketch and cloned some unwanted to people out of my photos... this is pretty sweet.
Anyway, this means that tomorrow I will be posting some pictures because right now I have no creative mojo and I'm going to go upstairs and spend some QT (quality time) with my hubby. This will also give me some time to browse through a couple of scrappy mags to see if I can find some inspiration.
The Scrapcakes August kit is available and I must admit it was super fun to work with. It has some yummy October Afternoon and a ton of paper from the Kelly Panacci line. You can check it out here. I will post the projects I did with it tomorrow.
Okay hope you had a fabulous Monday!!

Wednesday, August 6, 2008

{believe it or not}

I am scrapping however I am currently without photo editing software so I can't take pictures and post stuff. So I am trying to decide if I want to purchase Photoshop Elements. I of course don't want to spend the money for it, but if I plan on taking picture and posting them then I really do need it.
I will have a decision made in the next 24 hours because I have DT stuff that I have to post... so any suggestions would be great. The majoirty of my friends over at Memorable Seasons say they have Photoshop Elements and they love it. So even though I HATE to be a follower I think I might have to get on the band wagon for this one.
Okay well it's late and I really need to get to bed... I will hopefully be able to post tomorrow even if it means going upstairs to the home PC and using that software. :o(

{go ahead...}

call me a liar. I can't believe that it's been over a week since I updated last. Here I was saying how I was feeling 95% percent and that turned out to not be the case. Anyway, now I really do feel like I'm 95%.
I have been working on my Memorable Seasons projects and challenges and I am working on the Scrapcakes August kit which is super yummy (sorry I can't show you).
If you are interested in some challenges for the month, stop by the MS board and take part in our All About Me challenges. There will be a new prompt every Monday to get you scrapping about YOU!!
There is also an awesome kit at MS this month (put together by the ubertalented JenM)... you can check it out here.
As for me... once I get caught up on my DT duties... you can find me at Dreamgirls for their August challenge (another all about me challenge) that I think is awesome, so go play with those ladies and you can also stop by Scrapin Friendzy (link to the right). There are doing a super cute Sizzlin' Summer Wrap Up for August which sounds fun!!!
Okay so now that I have semi-updated, I'm off to scrap for a few minutes... or I might just go to bed and have creative scrappy thoughts in my head for tomorrow.
Hope you all had a Super Dooper Summer Saturday.
BTW - I figure if there are so many online sites doing "All About Me" as the theme for the month then why don't you make August all about you. I know I am. Let's see what can I get into to?....

Saturday, July 26, 2008

{thank you}

I just want to say "thank you" to all of my internet buddies. I have received numerous emails from people I have never met, asking if I was okay and offering an ear if I needed one. Well to all of you... Thank you very much!!!
I am about 95% sure that I am out of this "funk" I have been in. I am ready to return to my "normal" scrappy self. I don't want you to think that I totally abandoned scrapping during my time of "mojolessness" (even I can't expect anyone to accept that as a word).
I did get my card done for the July My Sketch World sketch however Lucy hasn't posted them yet so I can't post it here yet. I will share soon though. I also used some of my stash - as I was trying to challenge myself, and made a clock for my scrap room. I plan on getting a picture taken tomorrow. I must admit that I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Also I had no idea that I had sooo much KI Memories paper in my stash. I'm almost embarrassed.
Okay well little Ms. C is in the bed so Cornelius and I are going to try to watch a movie... hope everyone had a Super Dooper Summer Saturday. I can't take credit for that - it's courtesy of the Disney Channel

Saturday, July 19, 2008

{i don't know why}

I am so "down" lately. I guess that my email from last week really threw me off more than I gave it credit for. I haven't scrapped this week... just don't feel like it.
Caitlyn went to bed at 7pm tonight and I just can't bring myself to pick up a piece of pattern paper or photo. I just want to go get in the bed... however I'm not tired!!
Okay well I also realized today that I missed 12 of 12 again this month and that pissed me off.
I guess July is not going to be my month.
On the brighter side I have awesome friends, especially the super talented and wonderfully special Jemma - whom I love BTW. She is awesome and although I have never met her I know I am blessed to have her in my life. She made me feel a whole lot better.
Oh and she also recently mentioned to me that I need more layouts of myself so even though the picture is terrible I did get one done with the July Scrapcakes kit. Enjoy Jemma.

This is basically some KI Memories Bloom and some Luxe rub-ons.

I also got a 4th of July layout done of Caitlyn and Cornelius. The picture again wasn't that great but I like how the layout turned out. Plus I was just happy to get a picture of the two of them.
This one is all Scenic Route. Stickers, buttons, patterned paper and chipboard.
You can get this stuff in the Scenic Route kit at Memorable seasons here. I love all of it, plus I think the price is sweet.
Okay so hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday night and I plan on getting some scrappin' done tomorrow!!
*One more thing... Jemma has a great sketch up on her blog so go give it a try.

Sunday, July 13, 2008

{umm..........?}

It's Sunday, which means work tomorrow.
I had to get a new battery for my car today (thank you Florida weather). Other than that I got nothing done today.
I purchased an MP3 player on Friday- no not an iPOD, maybe next time. The sad part about it is that I feel so 'blah" that I don't even feel like putting any songs on it. I'm not sure what is wrong with me.

I do have some layouts to share from the July Scrapcakes kit which is SOLD OUT!! How exciting is that? BTW if you need a little inspiration, we are starting a new contest tomorrow which will run through the end of the month. So be sure to check the message board for details.

I wish I had the energy and the time to start a challenge blog.... I have a ton of ideas, but I'm not sure I could dedicate the necessary time needed. We will see.
Okay off to bed, hopefully some rest will get me back to myself.

Thursday, July 10, 2008

{I needed some time}

I didn't fall off the face of the earth, but I will say that I wish I had for about 10 minutes.
Monday evening I received a very disturbing email from someone after they visited my blog. I'm not sure exactly what this person was trying to achieve but I will give them credit for putting a hiccup in my week and throwing me slightly off track, but other than that... it's back to business as usual.
So with that said.. the July kit is up at Scrapcakes and it is so fun. It is jam packed with yummy paper from Luxe Designs, My Mind's Eye and KI Memories. Go grab one while you still can. Oh and also we are having a "Summer Inspiration" Contest starting on Monday so if you have time stop by the forum and play with us.
Now then since it's been basically a week since I last blogged (bad blogger!!!). I hope everyone had a great 4th of July. I got a chance to take a ton of pictures and although I haven't been blogging I have been scrapping. I got a chance to use the awesome new Scenic Route Liberty papers which I received in my Memorable Seasons DT kit. Here is a layout I did for one of the July Challenges posted in the MS Forum. (I'm sure you are getting tired of seeing layouts about Caitlyn, but TOO BAD!!) LOL.

Thursday, July 3, 2008

{Juno again?}

So I watched Juno again this evening while I was scrapping and even though I have seen it at least 5 times already it still makes me cry. If you haven't seen it please do, it's worth it. I still need to watch Dan in Real Life and No Reservations (which if you recall I purchased back in May). So with all that said I got exactly 1 page done!!!
So I'm getting ready to start another one while I wait for the princess to wake up for some food. And imagine that.... as soon as I finished typing that sentence she was calling. LOL! Okay so now that she is fed... I'm off to bed since I will have to get up early to feed her again. Hope everyone has a safe 4th because I'm sure I won't update tomorrow.
Happy 4th of July!!!!

Wednesday, July 2, 2008

{countdown to the 4th}

It's almost here... and you know what that means. I get to dress Caitlyn up in Stars and Stripes and take pictures of her to go with my Scenic Route paper that I pick up tomorrow. Oh and of course fireworks, hot dogs, etc. I think I'm more excited about seeing how Caitlyn will react to the fireworks than anything, oh and having a day off of work.
Okay so the card sketch is finally up at My Sketch World so if you have time, please give it a go. Here is the card I made with it. I used all Cosmo Cricket from the June Scrapcakes kit, which is still available if you want to grab one, and wait until you see the July kit... Yum-O.

There are also some new challenges up on the Memorable Seasons message board for July. Here is a layout I did for my challenge. I so love those Cosmo Cricket alphabets!!

I'm starting to ask myself if people are getting tired of seeing Caitlyn on my layouts...
Oh well, she pretty much is my life so that's what I scrap. Alright I'm in the middle of trying to make some magnets out of buttons and eat dinner at the same time. I'm not doing very well right now, plus this is another "I want to get to bed early" night. Hope your Wednesday was wonderful.

Sunday, June 29, 2008

{happy new week}

Well tomorrow is Monday again... and for some of us that means another week of work. I just wanted to update really quickly before I head off to bed. Two short things. One anyone who knows me knows I love Reese Witherspoon...and anything related to Reeses peanut butter. Which is of course is why Caitlyn's middle name is Reese. Well imagine my surprise when I found yet another reason to love the name Reese. Check out the July kit from Mosh Posh here. Is that not a yummy kit? I know what your thinking " I love Reese too"!!
The second thing I wanted to tell you about... with the 4th of July around the corner.I know that you will all be celebrating and taking lots of pictures to scrap. Well if you are looking for the PERFECT July 4th kit, check out the Coconut Scrapshop July kit featuring the new Scenic Route papers - and who doesn't love Scenic Route? Exactly.
Okay so now that I have spent a whole post advertising... I am working on a layout using some of the My Mind's Eye papers from my Memorable Seasons DT kit however I need "something" to make it complete. Maybe it will come to me in my sleep.
Have a fabulous Monday!!!
*BTW Memorable Seasons is doing a "Spend More Make More" promotion: For every $25 dollars you spend(not including shipping) you will earn a $5 gift certificate.

{baby boomers}

Please tell me that I'm not the only one watching this show. It is hilarious!! It's about 5 teenage couples that agree to take care of someone else's baby 24 hours a day like it's their child. All I have to say is that one couple was arguing before the baby even got there because the girl had to wear a pregnancy belly and she thought she looked fat and ugly.
The tv commerical is right it's not reality tv it's birth control. If you get a chance please watch it next Wednesday, it will be worth it.
On to scrapping... I finished my My Sketch World card for July using the Cosmo Cricket papers from the
June Scrapcakes kit, unfortunately I can not share it until after this weekend when it gets posted..sorry.
Other than my card I haven't gotten anything else done this week because my desk looks like this -

I know it looks terrible and I'm a little embarrassed about it. I would tell you that my plan is to get it cleaned this weekend but I don't want to make that kind of commitment although I will try especially since I have a lot of stuff to work on.
Alright I'm off to bed to get some extra sleep.

Sunday, June 22, 2008

{okay Jemma here you go}

I have to be honest I was going to go to bed without updating, but luckily I have a fabulous friend (that I have never met) named Jemma to make sure that I do. So this post is for her...
I got my Memorable Seasons DT stuff last week (the second time it was mailed) and finally had a chance to sit down and work with it. Somehow the mailman didn't deliver it the first time that Jill sent it and it ended up back in Texas.
Jill sent me some yummy My Mind's Eye and some Cosmo Cricket Alphas and some velvet ric rac (which I love). I've only gotten one layout done so far and 2 cards. I wanted to work on it some more tonight, however someone (I won't say any names) just went to bed about 10 minutes ago.

Okay so now that I am in scrap mode... I'm going to try to work on another one of my famous (in my own mind) sketches and continue to get my scraproom finished.
That is a lie... I'm going to continue to watch the "Guy's Choice Awards" it's like a bad accident - I can't stop watching.
First I'm going to go check out Jemma's blog and then see if I can find a couple of challenges to work on.

Saturday, June 21, 2008

{really quick}

I have been doing so bad with my blogging. I need to do better I know. Anyway, I just wanted to check in for today and I promise I will have some stuff to post tomorrow. I spent the last 30 minutes or so blog hopping and learned that my friend Jemma got a fabulous new haircut and that she is the featured scrapper HERE. I'm so happy for her, and her work really is amazing.
Today was super quiet.. I went to the scrapbook store and purchased more than I should. I went in for glue dots and came out with a bag full of stuff, don't worry I'm not even going to try to justify it.
I wanted to take a trip to IKEA but it's an hour away and I just don't feel like driving that far. Oh well, maybe I can talk Cornelius into going next weekend. Alright I'm going to spend the next 30 minutes or so working on getting this room a little more organized. I hope to have it all complete before July 1st.

{it's tuesday already?}

I can't believe that it's already Tuesday...actually it's almost Wednesday!!
I have been super busy and yet I am still behind. How is that? Anyway my scraproom is on hold for now as I have got to catch up with my scrapping. Hopefully I will be back to unpacking by Thursday/Friday.

I did want to share a couple of things that I did with the remainder of my Scrapcakes kit. (BTW I still have some more paper left so I'm not done yet!!!)
Both of these projects use the Cosmo Cricket Hello Sunshine papers.. the first is a card I made for the #2 challenge at ScrapFriendzy (a Thank You card using felt).

The next is a layout about my little princess... I'm not sure how old she was in this photo but I'm thinking about 2 months or so... look at those cheeks!

So if you haven't gotten the June Scrapcakes kit yet... I believe you still can!!!
Also you still have time to get over to Memorable Seasons and complete the June challenges. There are three new challenges to work on and the Summer Mini Album contest is still going on .
Hope everyone is having a great week so far!!!

{hey guess what?}

Yes, you guessed correct it rained again today!!! So I did the best I could to get some good pictures of the inside of my mini album. I figured if I put down some white fabric I could get a better shot.

And guess what else? I forgot that yesterday was 12 of 12! I can't understand why I forget it every month. Hopefully I will get more organized (as planned) and I will not forget anymore. I'm going to have to post a calender in my scraproom so I can keep up with everything.
I also completed a card for the #5 challenge at Scrap Friendzy - create an I love you card with an edge.

So now I'm off to bed... I'm super tired and hopefully will be able to sleep in just a little.

{let's see...}

What's going on...

I'm staying up too late and getting up too early. So tonight my goal is to be in bed by 11:30 PST. I have a couple of things to share... it rained again here in Sunny South Florida (imagine that) so I couldn't get any good pictures. Also I am still working on my Scrapcakes kit (it is just so packed with goodies) I have completed 2 layouts, 2 cards. Here are the 2 cards I made with the Making Memories Noteworthy paper.

I also finished a mini album using the kit, however I can only post the cover page since the rest of the photos didn't come out. The mini album uses the Wild Woodland Tinkering Ink Papers and I still have another line of papers that I haven't even started on yet!!

Go grab one of these kits before they are gone.
Two more things... first don't forget about the DT challenges over at Memorable Seasons. There is still plenty of time to get them completed. The new challenges will be posted on the 15th.
Finally, my poor friend Jemma is in Panama and her hotel has bugs!! Poor Jemma. She is such a sweetheart I hope that this part if her trip is over very soon. Bugs - Yuck!
Alright I have exactly 8 minutes until bedtime - Good night.

{i'm here, i'm here}

I have just been super busy getting my scrap on. I should have some goodies to share with you tomorrow. One, because I am still working on a couple of things and two, because I wasn't able to get any pictures today due to the rain (for the third day in a row).
I can say this... if you want an awesome kit for June go get the Scrapcakes kit when it is released tomorrow. I was so surprised when I get my kit this weekend. It was full of super cute stuff. There are at least three different lines to work with and plenty of extras.
Okay so I'm going to get back to work so I can get to bed before 2 am. Hope you are enjoying my music. I love the song from One Republic!!!

{i'm sick}

and I can't stand it!!
I am no doctor but I guess I have a summer cold. I used to never get sick but I suppose that as I get older things like that change although one of my best friends told me it's because I haven't been getting enough rest.
So with that and all the unpacking I have yet to sit down and create anything. It's very frustrating because there are so many great challenges out in blog world right now. I received my June kit for Scrapcakes today and it is sooo yummy! I was so amazed with how much stuff there was. I plan to have a little sneak peek for you in a couple of days.
Also, if you are looking for some fun challenges to work on, stop by Memorable Seasons and check out the DT challenges and the Summer Mini Album challenge.

{in the house}

Tonight will be the second night in our new house and stuff is everywhere!!! I don't really understand why the movers couldn't unpack our stuff. Instead there are boxes all over the place and I don't feel like unpacking them. I haven't had a chance to scrap because my scraproom is full of boxes..

This is the view form the door...and believe it our not all of those boxes (except for the two right in the front) are scrapbook supplies. I really need to get the dishes and kitchen stuff unpacked first, however I hope to get this room done by Sunday. Luckily I have some supplies that aren't packed so I can get in a little scrap time starting tomorrow night.
Alright I'm off to bed so I can get up nice and early.
BTW... if you love making cards. Stop by ScrapFriendzy this month and check out the card challenges that they are posting!!!

{my good news}

I am so excited!!!.. I made the Design Team for Scrapcakes Monthly kit club. I wanted to share the layouts I did using some Pink Paislee which is available in the Scrapcakes May Kit. Maria still has May Kits available if you would like to order one. I have to admit that the second layout is my favorite layout to date. I just love how it turned out.
The Pink Paislee paper is super fun to work with, I still have a couple of layouts that I want to complete with it. Oh and I can't wait to post some "sneaky peeks" of the June Kit.
**************************************************
On a not so good note... we weren't able to sleep in the new house tonight because the moving company could not deliver our furniture because they had a few people call in sick. Hopefully we will be sleeping there tomorrow and I can start organizing my new scraproom.
Cornelius and I did enjoy a nice dinner at Chili's this evening...courtesy of the moving company, it was the least they could do!

{tomorrow I start my job}

I have to make this post quick. I have to go to bed because tomorrow it's back to work after a whole month off. I'm very excited about this job, I think it will be great.
I wanted to go ahead and share the sketch I did for my June Challenge at Memorable Seasons.. again come on over and play with us. I first wanted to say Thank you to my very good friend Jemma... she told me this could be done in Word and she was right. Thanks Jemma girl!!

And please no laughing at my hand drawn flowers. I didn't realize it was so hard to draw with the mouse... and this was the best I could do for my forst time. LOL!
Here is the layout I completed based on the sketch. Please feel free to give it a go. It's a super easy sketch so you can really use your own style.

I do still have some other news to share however it will have to wait until tomorrow.
Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!

{saturday scrappin'}

I got my Clip it Up!!! It's still in the box until Monday though.
So I have spent most of the day trying to figure out how to make a sketch in Word. I felt really good because the sketch turned out very nice. The problem was trying to figure out how to save it as a jpg file. To make a long story short, I gave up and ended up re-doing the sketch in Paint. I had to draw flowers with the mouse (which is not easy), but all in all it turned out great. I will share after I post it on the
Memorable Seasons board but you can always stop by and check it out.
Tonight is going to be a short post because I'm super tired of looking at the computer screen after the whole sketch issue. I have some exciting stuff to post tomorrow though!

{we now own a townhouse}

Well it's official.. we own a townhouse in Florida. After a full day and a half of going around and around with the lender.. we finally closed today at 5:00pm. Side note - do not do business with Countrywide. Cornelius was so frustrated with them that he said he is going to make it his personal mission to bring them down. LOL!
On to scrappy chat... I have been so busy trying to figure out how to make a sketch using a combination of word and paint. Why you ask. Because I have no idea which program to buy so that I can easily make my own sketches.

Anyway my sketch will be revealed on Sunday at Memorable Seasons when we post half of the DT challenges for the month of June. Come over and play with us!

I did get a couple of layouts done although I can only share one right now. This is just a quick layout using some scraps and some old papers.

{wednesday was...}

pretty good.
I know this will sound awful, but I finally found a daycare for Caitlyn. She will be starting tomorrow, which will give me some time to get things done before we move and before I start my job. In addition it will allow her to get adjusted to going back to daycare.
On to scrappy chat... I purchased a little "house warming" present for my new scraproom. I am so excited and I can't even begin to explain how bad I need this. I can't wait to get it... this picture came off the Simply Renee site.
Alright well I'm going to get back to scrapping, I am so behind on my "to do" list and I think I just felt my mojo leave the room. Not good. I need some scrap snacks to get me going again but I have nothing here and I can't leave (sleeping baby) oh well.

Here is my May card for My Sketch World. If you have time blog hop over and check out both card sketches and the layout sketch for May, there are also a couple of tutorials for you to check out as well. And don't forget there will be a new sketch at the beginning of the month.
*BTW - Spike got kicked off of Top Chef and I am mad...not that I thought he would win, but I HATE Lisa. She should have been gone, plus Spike added a "little something" to the show.

{one more week}

So I hope everyone had a fabulous Memorial Day. Cornelius and Caitlyn and I spent the day just "hanging out". We went to the mall and then drove out to the beach. I know what you are thinking...'Oh yeah, pictures' well you are wrong. Although I had the thought Nicole, get the camera before we leave. I ended up leaving not one but both of the cameras at home!! Oh well, at least I have an excuse to go back.
On a happier note -Tomorrow we do the walk through on our new pad. That means of course that closing is only 3 days away!! Can you believe it only 3 days until I get my own scrapbook room, only 3 days until Caitlyn gets to sleep in her crib again and only 3 days until Cornelius gets his satellite TV back!!
Okay I know you came here for scrappy stuff, so here you go.
My dear friend Jemma has her new sketch up on
her site so go check it out. I have got to go get some more pictures printed in "tiny" size so I can give it a try. Also on June 1st the DT over at Memorable Seasons will be posting challenges for the month of June for everyone to enjoy. We will also be doing a 6 week long mini book challenge starting the same day. So if you love challenges or would love to have some "prompts" to help you get a mini book completed then stop on by.
Alright I'm going to get back to the layout I'm working on so that I will hopefully have something to post tomorrow. Hope everyone had an awesome holiday.

{thursday already}

Where does the time go? It seems like just yesterday that it was Monday (the last time I posted). I have to admit I got very little scrapping done yesterday and today.

I received a call yesterday and was offered a job... so no more pretending to be a stay at home mom (which by the way I suck at). So I have spent the whole day today looking for a daycare for my bundle of joy. I have a couple of places to look at tomorrow and then hopefully I can make a decision.
As for scrapping... I do have one layout to share. It's missing it journaling, but I don't think that will make that much of a difference. (BTW- the journaling will be on the side, on the orange cardstock) It's a pretty simple page using some Scenic Route and Sassafrass Lass and of course Thickers!!! I can't believe my baby is 6 months old already.

Total after thought, but am I the only one that thinks I need to do something about my super boring banner?

{so you had a good day}

It's Monday and I guess it was a pretty good day. I spent the day with Cornelius before he went out of town (again). We went to see our new house one more time... we close on the 30th.
Let's see I'm watching 13 going on 30 (classic) and I'm eating another piece of Brownie Cheesecake and it is just as good as it was on Friday. Yum-O. When I first got to Florida I hated Publix but now that I've found this cheesecake well.. Hello new friend!!
On to scrapping - so I still can't post my layouts, but I am going to post my altered clipboard (using the Pink Paislee Office Lingo) and I card I made using the Apirl kit from Scrappy Girl Designs.
The other good thing about today was that I finally purchased a copy of Juno!! Yes, I've seen it 3-4 times but it is so good I just had to get my own copy. I also purchased Dan In Real Life and No Reservations. I love Movies!!
Oh one more thing... If you haven't had a chance to grab the new Pink Pailsee Office Lingo papers, check out the April kit from Scrapcakes. There are also some awesome pattern papers from Little Yellow Bicycle. Check it out!

Also check out this kit from Mosh-Posh... very bright and colorful. It includes some Chatterbox? (I bet you are as surprised as I am-they must have heard all the stuff we were saying about them) and some GCD Studios.

{brownie cheesecake}

...the prefect ending to the day.
I have to admit it was a pretty decent Friday. I didn't get any scrapping done thanks to my little "Reeses Pieces", but I plan on finishing an altered clipboard that I started on after I finish blogging. I did want to update that I got my mojo back... I was able to complete 2 layouts and a card with the yummy Pink Paislee Office Lingo line for a project however I can't post them yet. Hopefully tomorrow.
I do have a layout I did for Memorable Seasons using the We R Memory Keepers White Out line. I love how bright and fun these papers are.
Also I have an altered hanging frame I did for Memorable Seasons using the Clearscraps frames and the Little Yellow Bicycle papers. I usually don't alter stuff but this idea just came to me so easily.
Remember you can get all of these items at Memorable Seasons and Jill is having a huge sale right now on everything in the store so go check it out.

{scrappers block}

I'm pretty sure I have it.... I have been working on the same layout for the past 2 hours. I feel like I'm just pushing the same pieces of paper around until they "click" into place. I think I'm trying to re-create the wheel over here! LOL!
So I got my 12 of 12th pictures done. I haven't had a chance to look at them yet, but I plan on getting them printed tomorrow and hopefully getting my layout done as well.
Let's see... my friend Jemma has her new sketch up so go check it out. And also stop by Unpubbed if you get a chance and have some time to play along.
Also if you have some money to spend come on over to Memorable Seasons and check out all the awesome new stuff in the store. There is some really cool Maya Road chipboard and some Teresa Collins products are on sale as well.
Alright well back to scrapping for me and hopefully I will get this layout completed tonight so that I have something to show tomorrow.

{happy mom's day}

I am finally back on track. I was so tired yesterday that I was actually falling asleep while typing which explains why I didn't post yesterday. So first things first I would like to wish everyone a Happy Mother's Day. I hope your day was fabulous. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of my present hopefully I can get it posted tomorrow.
As for tonight. I wanted to post some of my creations for Memorable Seasons DT. We got a chance to use the new We R Memory Keepers White Out line and it is yummy. I am still working on a couple of layouts.

This post will also serve as a reminder that tomorrow is May 12th so if you are thinking about doing 12 of 12th or if you are already a participant... get your cameras ready. This will be my first month actually getting it done. I'm so excited!

{exploring florida}

I know I said I would post some more creations this evening, but we are currently in a hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Cornelius is letting me use his laptop because I left mine at home.
My wonderful husband took Caitlyn and I on a road trip to Fort Lauderdale and we also went to Miami (not impressed). We were actually looking for the beach (which we did not find). Oh well maybe next time. Anyway we will be back in Fort Myers tomorrow and I will post my pages then.
I'm off to go watch a movie and eat some pizza. I might also run downstairs to the little hotel store for some candy. Yum-O.

{creations...}

Okay I have been super busy doing nothing. I spend all day watching Caitlyn and she is super spoiled so she needs tons of attention. I can only scrap during naps and late at night but by the time she is down I am tired and ready for bed myself. So if it's not obvious there is no way I could be a Stay at Home Mom.... hats off to all of you that do it. I have also been trying to find a job... I had an interview yesterday so keep your fingers crossed for me please.
Well, I finally got some things done. I have been working with the
Scrappy Girl Designs April kit which included some Cherry Arte and Crate Paper (which I love). Yes I am behind because of the moving, but in my defense SGD kits are sent out in the middle of the month.

I still have quite a bit of paper left to work with so be on the look out for a few more pages.
Oh and because I don't want to show you all my hard work in one day. I will wait until tomorrow to post my cards for
Memorable Seasons using the new White Out Line from We R Memory Keepers (super fun).
So just like any other scrapper I spent my first days in Florida looking for (you guessed it) a scrapbook store. The first that I found is the
Strawberry Fields Scrapbook Shop it was very cozy and very close to where I'm currently staying. They had some really cool stuff and all the new stuff too. I'm going to have to go back next week even though I shouldn't.
Oh and by the way... the new layout sketch is up at
My Sketch World so go check it out. And my good friend Jemma's sketch from last Friday is here although she will be putting another sketch up tomorrow. And if you still have some free time after that please go check out Unpubbed for a chance at your 15 minutes of fame and this weeks prize pack is offered by Memorable Seasons. Okay so I'm off to update my personal blog. Hope everyone has a happy Friday.

{back to your normally scheduled program}

Okay I think things are going to get back to normal now. We are officially residents of Florida. Caitlyn and I arrived at about 9:30pm. My scrappy supplies which I had shipped express will be here tomorrow and I can't wait. I can't believe that I didn't get a chance to scrap during National Scrapbook Day/Weekend... never again. There were so many great crops going on this weekend. I hope everyone got some quality scrap time in.
Memorable Seasons had a crop this weekend and it was fun. I hosted a Memorable Seasons logo challenge and made this card as an inspiration example.
Photobucket
Although it's the only thing I actually got to make for NSD, I did have fun with it.
I also got some really yummy stuff in the mail before I left Texas so I have plenty to work on this week. I plan on posting a few pages tomorrow evening...as long as my scrappy box gets here (which reminds me I need to go track it).
So starting tomorrow I should be back to posting and scrapping and blog hopping!!

Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend.

{just a quick note}

I wanted to say Congratulations to my friend Dawn for making the Design Team over at Freckle Friends. I met Dawn over at Scrappy Girl Designs and if you remember she sent me this... I'm so happy for her. Dawn is super nice and super talented so if you get a chance go check her out over at Freckle Friends!

I will return this evening with an update and some creations!!!

{packing is not my favorite thing}

at least not for this reason, packing for a trip to Venice, now that's different.

So I have spent the entire night (friday) and day (today) packing and getting rid of all the stuff we don't need. I don't think I would be as frustrated if Caitlyn could pack her own things.
Anyway, I just wanted to post my card for My Sketch World and now I'm back to packing before bed. Tomorrow the actual packers are coming! Did that sound as strange to you as it did to me...
why in the heck are we packing if we have packers coming? I don't know.
Hopefully tomorrow night I will actually have time to sit down and create something.

Still loving the Dream Street Paper!!!
